The drafts of the RA Constitutional Law and related laws “On Making Amendments and Additions to the RA Judicial Code” Constitutional Law have been approved by the government.
Drafting of the bills stems from the need to ensure a more specialized and efficient examination of anti-corruption cases in the Court of Appeal. The purpose of the projects is to ensure the organization of re-examination of judicial acts made in cases of anti-corruption civil and corruption crimes by a specialized appellate anti-corruption court.
As a result of the adoption of the draft, the Appellate Anti-corruption Court will be established, which will carry out the review of judicial acts made in cases related to anti-corruption civil and corruption crimes in the order of re-examination.
The court will consist of at least 12 judges, of whom at least 6 will deal with cases related to corruption crimes, at least 6 will deal with appeals against judicial acts issued in anti-corruption civil cases.
As a result of the adoption of the project, the efficient implementation of the process of evaluation of good conduct for persons aspiring to be included in the list of candidates of judges subject to promotion for appointment as a judge in the appellate court will be ensured.
