Within the framework of the Yerevan Book Festival, the presentation of the book “Mamik” by novelist, pedagogue Naira Abrahamyan took place today in the basement of the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall.
Davit Samvelyan, representative of “Edit Print” publishing house, said that the book was published in the “Ardi Faaz” series.
“Now is the time to write and create, it is the time to live the nation, the motherland. There is a sincerity in Naira Abrahamyan’s prose that fascinates me. He paints the village with true words, every detail in its place. He brought a beautiful language, and what is important is that he preserved the pristine native language. It is impossible not to believe in the heroes created by Naira,” noted writer, publicist, RA Armed Forces Colonel Andranik Hakobyan.
And the dean of the International Scientific and Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, physmath. candidate of sciences, associate professor Atom Mkhitaryan presented Naira’s prose with precise descriptions. “He represents simplicity with depth, the Armenian man with his worries and feelings. Naira’s prose is also a mirror that helps to get excited, to reach catharsis,” noted Atom Mkhitaryan.
The lyrical part of Naira Abrahamyan’s prose is prominent. “I approached literature with verse works. But it didn’t take long and I switched to prose,” the author noted, adding that writing short stories is difficult, because there are very few words, and there is a lot to say.
The book also includes stories in Western Armenian. Naira says that it is also important to address the ecstatic layers. “Today, the young generation avoids Western Armenian. But Western Armenian has a very interesting and sonorous lyrical part, which is impossible not to notice,” said Naira Abrahamyan.
Referring to the title of the book, Naira Abrahamyan said: “When we were little, we had a relative who called their grandmother Mamik. He impressed me so much. Also, saying Mamik, I remember and miss my father. her name was Mamiko, close people called her Mamik…” said our interlocutor.
