The former judge of the Criminal Court of Appeal, Alexander Azaryan, will continue to perform the duties of the President of the Union of Judges, “Pastinfo” informs.
To remind, judge Alexander Azaryan has submitted his resignation, on the basis of which the Supreme Court decided to terminate his powers.
“Pastinfo” contacted Elen Arakelyan, press secretary of the Union of Judges, to find out whether Azaryan will continue to perform the duties of the president of the union, to which Arakelyan said that Alexander Azaryan will continue to be the president of the Union of Judges.
“According to the Statute of the Union of Judges, termination of a judge’s powers does not mean termination of membership of the Union. According to the statute of the Union, there are no prohibitive circumstances regarding Alexander Azaryan’s further tenure,” Arakelyan noted.
