The Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, September 21, was manifested by the immoral behavior of the authorities, particularly the police, and unprecedented violence. The parents and relatives of our soldiers and officers who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the Motherland were brutally and illegally detained from Erablur. Some of the 37 citizens who were taken to the police stations suffered physical injuries, including being abused by the police.
Such behavior of the policemen not only does not derive from their powers, but was clearly due to Nikol Pashinyan’s commitment to “clean” the road before his visit to Yerablur.
Evaluating the attempts of the representatives of the ruling party to justify police violence as criminal, considering them as an insult to the Armenian people, the memory of our heroes and their relatives,
– we strongly condemn what happened, we evaluate it as an attitude adopted by the authorities towards the protection and cherished values of our country,
– we record once again that these authorities are not only unable to face the country’s ontological challenges, but are also a threat to our statehood and national unity,
– convinced that the police is called to serve the interests of the public and not the political majority of the day, we will pursue so that all the guilty are brought to justice.
