The government has adopted a decision on the accelerator of women’s entrepreneurship and employment development – “Accelerator # 5. due to the need to provide financial resources for the creation of a “National Platform for Women’s Economic Empowerment”. 80 million AMD will be allocated for the creation of the accelerator.
According to the substantiation, the total cost of the project is about 205 million AMD, equivalent to about 430 thousand US dollars, of which the UNDP funding will make about 50 million AMD, equivalent to 105,000 US dollars, the co-financing of the RA ABS, about 757 USD equivalent, about 75 80 million AMD, equivalent to about 168 thousand USD, is planned to be allocated from the means of the RA state budget “Support to SME Entrepreneurship” program.
In addition to its contribution, UNDP will invest additional funds in the years following the implementation of the project by combining parallel funding և target funding tools. By 2025, UNDP plans to transfer Accelerator # 5 to the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The aim of the accelerator is to realize the economic potential of women, it will be aimed at promoting women’s entrepreneurship, raising the level of women’s demand in the labor market by emphasizing their competitive advantages.
