Recently in 2021, at the initiative of the House-Museum of Victor Hovsepyan (Ninotsminda Municipality, Eshtiya village), the scientific and cultural center “House of Hovhannes Tumanyan” (leader Gisane Hovsepyan) and with the blessing of the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan, an online meeting was held in memory of talented poet and painter Viktor Hovsepyan under the title “Literary Readings”. This event is an evening traditionally dedicated to Hovsepyan’s poetry, which took place on the Messenger platform. The meeting was joined by fans of Victor Hovsepyan’s poetry from Georgia, Armenia, Russia, England, Ireland, members of the Hovsepyan family, as well as their relatives.
At the event, words of gratitude were expressed to the leaders of Ninotsminda municipality, as well as poet, translator and chairman of “Vernatun” Zhora Snkhchyan for the work done to preserve and popularize the literary heritage of the talented poet.
The moderator of the meeting, Gisane Hovsepyan, sent greetings to the mayor of Ninotsminda city Ani Mosoyan and the chairman of the Sakrebulo of Ninotsminda municipality Vahan Aroyan.
The online meeting was also joined by the former head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, now the director of the Department for Church Conceptual Issues of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan. He emphasized the special role of literature in the preservation and development of spiritual values.
Gisane Hovsepyan presented a bilingual collection of poems “Dialogue in the Language of Lyrics”, published under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, with the blessing of the head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia. It includes poems by Viktor Hovsepyan and Georgian classic Terenty Graneli. Graneli’s works are presented in the translation of Viktor Hovsepyan, and the works of Hovsepyan, in turn, are presented in the translation of Givi Shakhnazari and Makvala Gonashvili. It was noted that the Hovsepyan family began work on the publication of the poet’s paintings in one collection.
Literary critics Abgar Apinyan and Emma Akhtyan, artistic director of the Armenian Drama Theater named after Petros Adamyan Armen Bayanduryan and others talked about V. Hovsepyan’s literary heritage.
Naira Simonyan, a member of the Writers’ Union of Armenia and Russia, and Pavel Cherkashin, a writer and translator, spoke about the sound of the poet’s works in Russian.
Victor Hovsepyan’s works were read by the poet’s sister Lida Hovsepyan, his brother’s granddaughter Maria Hovsepyan and many of those present.
On the same day, in the Surb Astvatsatsin church in the village of Eshtia, the priest Fr. Anton Antonyan held a memorial service for the peace of the soul of Viktor Hovsepyan.
